This Saturday, October 4th, we celebrate the Feast of Saint Francis of Assisi with our blessing of animals at 11:00 a.m. in the parish courtyard. We will gather around our beautiful statue of Saint Francis, surrounded by animals, to pray and bless our furry, feathered, and scaly companions. Please ensure all pets are leashed or safely enclosed. This event is a joyful way to honor Saint Francis's love for God's creation and to give thanks for the companionship and joy our pets bring into our lives.
Next weekend, we will have the Gospel of Life Collection, which supports diocesan initiatives and parish programs that uphold the dignity of human life from conception to natural death. In today's culture, it is vital to help others understand the gift of life that God co-creates with us and calls us to cherish and protect, especially for the most vulnerable. Your generosity truly makes a difference.
I will be participating in the annual gathering of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem next weekend in Hawaii, part of our Western Lieutenancy. I am honored to serve as retreat master for the new investee candidates. This Order supports Christians in the Holy Land through prayer, education, and financial contributions. We are blessed to have eight parishioners, in addition to myself, as members of the Order. Please know of my prayers for you while I am away.
Peace and hope in Him.
